Wednesday nights in February were awesome! When I look at nature, I see something that is beautiful, I see order. I lose my breath when I see pictures of Yosemite Valley after it has snowed. When I see snapshots from deep in space all I can think is, “I want to be where God is.” I get tired of a world that is run by the corrupt and evil, a system that is decrepit and destroys the lives of so many, especially when I know that God has made a way for all to have salvation.

My husband, Steve and I, along with five other couples have been part of a marriage class called "Now We're Cookin'." Once each month Charlotte and Rusty Risi invite us into their home where they share a lesson relating to marriage along with scripture, that goes with the menu for the evening. We have great fun cooking, eating, and learning all at the same time.

Have you ever felt the deep, lonely feeling of being ‘alone’? I think a baby in a crib to an elderly person in a Senior Rest Home has experienced that feeling. I would like to share an experience I had a few years ago. I had been married for some years, had 4 children & was a busy mom for many years. When my youngest son was about 20 years old I felt that it was time for me to get my own place. I found a nice little apartment…got it all fixed up. It was nice! I had been busy raising children & helping with grandchildren. I had not been ALONE.

Sometimes if we’re not careful, going to church can become a routine where we can fall under the category of “turned off.” This means that we go to church every Sunday or Wednesday just going through the motions.

The Come home for Christmas series is the perfect theme for Christmas this year. I love having parties at my house which has carried on to parties at WBF. Having family and friends around makes me happy.

Sometimes some things seem so bleak and there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel. That’s where we were when the youth numbers began to fall at one point and it seemed to just be my two kids and a couple others there. At one point my wife and I thought that we should just quit, thinking that would solve the problem.

God gives double for your trouble. Everything we go through in life is an open book test with all the answers – Jesus shows us the way, reveals the Truth and gives us life. Remember that God is for us not against us. It is he that made you, He that empowers you, He that called you, He that lives in you and through you. As Christ is, so are we in this world. FEAR NOT is written in the Bible over 360 times. I asked God “how do I not fear?” He said, “Do not look or focus on the things going on outside, but focus on what I’m doing on the inside of you.” The choice is ours.

November is the month to have a giving heart. There are many different things that you can do to help others. One thing that I do every year is go to Guatemala every May to volunteer in a hospital. We take doctors, dentists, optometrists, and orthopedic surgeons and create a hospital there for two weeks. There is nothing better than seeing the smiles that our HELPS team puts on their faces.
